According to Quran mountains prevent earthquake or the shaking of the earth. In Sura Al-Anbiyaa (Chapter 21 verse# 31)
It says
" And We have placed on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with them"

If Mountains are there to stop the earth from shaking, then why do we see so many earthquakes in mountainous regions?. For example, Japan is a mountainous zone but it has 1500 earthquakes every year.'Shaking of the earth' and earth quakes mean the same thing right? Mountains are created because of the movement of tectonic plates. They do not stablize the earth or prevent shaking of the earth. This verse is clearly in error

I urge Kenyans to turn away from corruption

UK ex-minister jailed for lies thrills Kenyans at MPs prayers
PunBB bbcode test

A former top British minister whose political career collapsed following his imprisonment headlined National Prayer Breakfast meeting with stern and sobering sermon: impunity is an illusion.

Mr Jonathan Aitken starred at the forum graced by President Kibaki, Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka, with a testimony of his tribulations, weaved in light moments and sarcasm to pitch for transformation. Aitken recalled times in positions of power and influence, painting the familiar picture of the arrogant politician deluded that "he could get away with anything", before a humbling 18-month sentence for perjury in 1999.

A Letter to Harold Camping and Those Who Expected Judgment Day

[Note: Many thanks to those who have shared this letter.  Thanks to Ed, Dillon, Collin, and others who've posted links so far.  Please consider connecting with me on Facebook or Twitter, and please see the UPDATE at the end.]

When people say, “It’s not the end of the world,” they usually mean those words to be comforting.  Yet those words will not be comforting to you.  Not today.  That the Day of the Lord did not arrive when you had expected it to arrive will be a source of profound disappointment, of embarrassment, and perhaps — now or in the days to come — of disillusionment with your faith.
Harold Camping
You were wrong.  Let’s face that fact.  You were confidently wrong.  You believed with all the fervency of a hopeful heart, a heart that longed to see God and longed to see the day when suffering would cease and justice would reign and the truth of God would be made known.  When people mocked you for what you believed, you thought to yourself, Just wait and you’ll see.  Today I will be thought a fool for Christ; tomorrow the world will see that we were right.

Every soul that walks in darkness is headed for sorrow

  • This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5 NKJV)
  • "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." (John 9:5 NKJV)
  • "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned." (Matthew 4:15-16 NKJV)
  • In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. (John 1:4-9 NKJV)
  • The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. (Revelation 21:23 NKJV)
  • The work of the Holy Spirit
  • And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. (John 16:8-11 NKJV)
  • Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? (Romans 2:4 NKJV)
  • For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death (2 Corinthians 7:10 NKJV)
  • Every soul that walks in darkness is headed for sorrow.
  • Either that sorrow will lead to despair, and eventually to death; or it will lead to a turning from darkness to light, from Satan to God.
  • Jesus Christ is the only true Light that will cure the sorrow of the world.
  • The Holy Spirit has His role: to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
  • John demonstrates ours: "sent to bear witness of that Light".
  • Oh, to be like Moses - whose face shone from being in the presence of God!

Satan's character is dark because he is completely, and eternally, severed from God's everlasting Light.
  • "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven..." (Luke 10:18 NKJV)
  • How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! (Isaiah 14:12 NKJV)
  • "...if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" (Matthew 6:23 NKJV)
  • ...God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5 NKJV)

Project Prevention, a US-based NGO, offers cash to drug addicts in the US and the UK to undergo long-term contraception or permanent sterilization. In 2010, the project started offering HIV-positive women in western Kenya US$40 to be fitted with intrauterine devices (IUDs), which can prevent pregnancy for over a decade.

How much a country's leader is paid compared to GDP per person

Raila Odinga, Kenya's prime minister, rejected the pay increase he was awarded by the country's parliament last week. MPs had granted Mr Odinga a rise to nearly $430,000 a year, while giving themselves a 25% increase to $161,000. This boost would place Mr Odinga among the highest-paid political leaders in the world. More worryingly, his salary would be some 240 times greater than the country's GDP per person (measured on a purchasing-power parity basis). Lee Hsien Loong, the prime minister of Singapore, tops our list of selected leaders' salaries. He is paid more than 40 times the city-state’s GDP per person. At the other end of the scale, Manmohan Singh, the prime minister of India, reaffirms his reputation for saintliness by taking a modest sum from Indian taxpayers.

Was he a gay prophet?

Gay - A man or a god in man form that is homosexual or has arousing homosexual desires.
Homosexual - Sexually attracted to members of your own sex

Evidence for Mohammad being a gay:

1. Bukhari :: Book 4 :: Volume 52 :: Hadith 143
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
The Prophet said to Abu Talha, "Choose one of your boy servants to serve me in my expedition to Khaibar." So, Abu Talha took me letting me ride behind him while I was a boy nearing the age of puberty. I used to serve Allah's Apostle when he stopped to rest. I heard him saying repeatedly, "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from distress and sorrow, from helplessness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from being heavily in debt and from being overcome by men."

How Muhammad’s Contemporaries Really Viewed Him

A Liar
We know indeed that it grieves thee the things they say; yet it is not thee they cry lies to, but the evildoers - it is the signs of God that they deny. S. 6:33 Arberry
And if they call you a liar
And if they call you a liar, truly apostles before you were called liars, and to Allah are all affairs returned. S. 35:4 Shakir; cf. Q. 34:8; 42:24
, say: My work is for me and your work for you; you are clear of what I do and I am clear of what you do. S. 10:41 Shakir
A Forger/Plagiarizer
And when it is said to them, 'What has your Lord sent down?' they say, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients.' S. 16:24 Arberry
And when We change a Verse [of the Qur'an, i.e. cancel (abrogate) its order] in place of another
Nay, they say: "These (revelations of the Qur'an which are inspired to Muhammad) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" S. 21:5 Hilali-Khan
But the misbelievers say: "Naught is this but a lie which he has forged, and others have helped him at it." In truth it is they who have put forward an iniquity and a falsehood. And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has caused to be written: and they are dictated before him morning and evening." Say: "The (Qur'an) was sent down by Him who knows the mystery (that is) in the heavens and the earth: verily He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." S. 25:4-6 Y. Ali; cf. Q. 6:25; 8:31; 10:38; 11:13, 35; 16:24; 83; 27:68; 46:8-9, 17; 52:33; 68:15; 83:13
, and Allah knows the best of what He sends down, they (the disbelievers) say: "You (O Muhammad) are but a Muftari! (forger, liar)." Nay, but most of them know not. S. 16:101 Hilali-Khan
A Sorcerer/Magician
Was it a wonder to the people that We revealed to a man from among them: 'Warn the people, and give thou good tidings to the believers that they have a sure footing with their Lord'? The unbelievers say, 'This is a manifest sorcerer.' S. 10:2 Arberry
When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, they say, "This is only a man who wishes to hinder you from the (worship) which your fathers practised." And they say, "This is only a falsehood invented!" and the Unbelievers say of the Truth when it comes to them, "This is nothing but evident magic!" S. 34:43 Y. Ali
And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad) is a sorcerer, a liar. S. 38:4 Hilali-Khan
A Soothsayer and Poet
And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? S. 37:36 Hilali-Khan
Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. S. 52:29 Arberry
Nor is it the word of a soothsayer: little admonition it is ye receive. S. 69:42 Y. Ali
A Madman (Majnun – lit., "jinn-possessed")
And they say: "O you (Muhammad) to whom the Dhikr (the Qur'an) has been sent down! Verily, you are a mad man. Why do you not bring angels to us if you are of the truthful ones?" S. 15:6 Hilali-Khan
Or do they say, 'He is possessed by a ginn?' Nay, he came to them with the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. S. 23:70 Palmer
Then they had turned away from him (Messenger Muhammad) and said: "One (Muhammad) taught (by a human being), a madman!" S. 44:14 Hilali-Khan; cf. Q. 34:46; 37:36; 68:2, 51
To summarize the testimony of the Quran, Muhammad’s contemporaries viewed him as
  • A liar.
  • A forger and plagiarizer.
  • A sorcerer and a magician.
  • A soothsayer and poet.
  • A madman, perhaps as a result of being possessed by jinn, i.e. demon-possessed.

The 20 Most Powerful People In African Business: Three Kenyans make list

Africa means business. The past decade has seen an enormous number of mega-corporations emerge on the continent. However, a vast number of these companies are run by foreigners. For example, SABMiller, the world’s second largest beverages maker, is led by CEO Graham Mackay, an American. The head of AngloGold Ashanti (AU), the world’s largest gold producer, is Mark Cutifani, an Australian national. Safaricom, East Africa’s largest telecoms provider, is run by Bob Collymore, a Guyanese.

However, a new league of African businessmen is emerging. They are bold and fearlessly ambitious, building pan-African companies with regional and even global presences. They are influencers and change-makers. Their voices are never ignored within Africa’s business and political circles, and through their resolutions and actions, they shape the economic future of the continent. Here are the 20 most powerful men in African business:

Despite preparations, believers of apocalypse shocked when doomsday time passes without incident

The sky turned dark Saturday afternoon, but it was not a sign of the world's impending doom - just a passing rain.
Robert Fitzpatrick believed today was judgment day.
Welcome to the No-pacalypse - a disappointing finish to what doomsday believer Robert Fitzpatrick thought would be the End of Days.

"I don't understand why nothing has happened," a deflated Fitzpatrick said in Times Square a few minutes after 6 p.m. "I did what I had to do. I did what the Bible said."

"I obviously haven't understood it properly because we're still here," added Fitzpatrick, 60, surrounded by a phalanx of reporters and skeptical onlookers.
The retired MTA worker from Staten Island bought $140,000 worth of advertising, proclaiming that the end was near. He and followers of California televangelist Harold Camping thought a global earthquake would strike the East Coast just before 6 p.m.

Harold Camping's Math

Harold Camping, a radio preacher who has predicted the end of the world, contends that 2 Peter provides keys to understanding end times.

Part of 2 Peter 3:8 says, “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.”

With this understanding, Camping says that when God told Noah in the book of Genesis that he had seven days to escape destruction before a worldwide flood, God was also telling the world that there would be exactly 7,000 years until Judgment Day.

Seven thousand years after the flood, which Camping dates to the year 4990 BC, is the year 2011. (Year 4990 BC + 2011 AD - 1 year for the year zero = 7,000 years)

May 21 was chosen because it is the 17th day of the second month in the Hebrew calendar, which mirrors the Biblical account in Genesis 7:10-11, which says a flood came in the “six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month.”

Camping has said that the dates of the crucifixion and the statehood of Israel confirm his calculations.

Christian movement preparing for End of Days

OAKLAND, Calif. – Some shut themselves inside to pray for mercy as they waited for the world's end.

Others met for tearful last lunches with their children, and prepared to leave behind homes and pets as they were swept up to heaven.

And across the globe, followers of a California preacher's long-publicized message that Judgment Day would arrive Saturday turned to the Bible, the book they believe predicts the beginning of Earth's destruction on May 21.

Judgment Day: Will May 21, 2011, Be the End of the World?

Thomas Jackson / Getty Images
Thomas Jackson / Getty Images
According to a small Christian movement, yes, it will.

The movement, led by Harold Camping, who runs the Evangelical network Family Radio, is predicting that mid-May of this year will bring about Judgment Day — the time when, according to some, the earth will be destroyed because of mankind's sins and all Christian believers will ascend to heaven.

(More on TIME.com: See more on Harold Camping and Judgment Day.)
Apparently Camping believes this will occur on May 21 on the basis of a mathematical system he created to interpret prophecies hidden in the Bible.

While the prediction is pretty eerie in light of the mysterious animal deaths in Arkansas, it's worth noting that this isn't the first time that Camping has predicted the end of the world.

He originally used his mathematical system to predict that Sept. 6, 1994, would be Judgment Day. (via NPR)

Who is "we"

Does the Quran itself espouse polytheism? Well, there are many plural diety references in the Quran, like for example:

Quran 15:27 “And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind.” CRCC: Center For Muslim-Jewish Engagement: Resources: Religious Texts

The translations are consistent and can be compared on this university website. Allah is saying "we" created the smokey magic race of Genies (Jinn). Who is "we"? Remember, this is no small point because Muslims dont simply say the Quran was "God breathed through man", they literally claim its every word is direct from God without any possiblity of human color.

Now, for educated people (Christians), the moment they read about "genies" they laughed and threw the book in the trash, but for uneducated people (Islams), we need....

Allah as a Muslim must do taharah to remove najas before prayer

Before praying a Muslim must do the follwoing:
Taharah (Purification)
The Muslim must have the proper Taharah (purification) before performing the prayers. This comprises the removal of najas (filthy) substances and performing wudu’ (ablution) or ghusl (full shower).

Evidence of Allah praying:
“Allah and His angels send salah on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye salah on him, and salute him with all respect.” (Qur’an 33:56)
It means Allah and His angels pray for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Argument: If Allah pray; then he Allah as a Muslim must do taharah to remove najas (filthy). Does it means that ALLAH HUWA ANATAWADHA KABLA YA SALAH? Ni uchafu gani huo allah huwa anatoa/usafisha?

Swali hili limeenda shule. Nategemea wafuasi wa allah wataleta ayat kusaidia majibu zao.

Inspekta Mwala takes the Bench

John Waibochi takes the Bench

The winner of the Innovation Challenge Award, John Waibochi’s “Virtual City”, has become a formidable force in East Africa because it is not only transforming logistics management for big companies, but because it is addressing the real issues by pioneering mobile business management solutions for smaller traders. By MANDY DE WAAL.
Acquiring high-level technological talent is what keeps John Waibochi up at night. There are enough entry level programmers in Kenya for Waibochi to take his pick, but when a business becomes as successful as his, growth drives a hungry demand for top talent. It’s the technology engineers and systems architects that Waibochi is finding hard to acquire locally for Virtual City.

Allah and Shaytan

Koran: 4:120, Satan is a liar = "Bad'ah"; ALLAH tells a lie. (Asool Kaafi, Vol. No.1, Page No. 148.)

Vipawa Vya Roho Mtakatifu

Computer glitch forces redo of US visa lottery

WASHINGTON – A computer glitch corrupted the State Department's annual worldwide lottery for U.S. immigrant visas and the results will be scratched, the Obama administration said Friday, disappointing tens of thousands of would-be immigrants who were notified this year that they had won a chance to come and live legally in the United States.

Nearly 15 million people had entered the 2012 lottery hoping to win one of 50,000 U.S. immigrant visas available under a wild-card program for people who otherwise would have little hope of getting a coveted U.S. visa. Applicants for the random drawing do not have to have the usual family or employer sponsor. The lottery selects 90,000 winners, a total that is then winnowed down through attrition, interviews and strict educational and occupational criteria.

The software glitch caused what is supposed to be a random drawing to select 90 percent of winners from entries submitted on only the first two days of the 30-day registration period that ended Nov. 3, the department said on Friday.

Tanzania: Retailers Warned Against Hiking Maize Flour

MILLING companies buying maize from the National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA) have been warned against selling flour at not more than 500/- a kilogram.
The NFRA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Charles Walwa, said millers have already started buying maize from the agency and so far 1,000 metric tons out of 50,000 have been sold.
"As government has already insisted, the indicative price is 500/- per kilogram and everyone should comply because a research was done by my agency to establish the price," Mr Walwa said as reports from Northern regions of the country say there is acute shortage of the staple food.

Tanzania Lending Rates May Drop Once Credit Bureau Operating, Banks Say

Banks in Tanzania, East Africa’s second-biggest economy, may further reduce lending rates once a planned credit reference bureau becomes operational, said Lawrence Mafuru, chairman of the country’s industry association.

“We are currently lending at between 8 and 15 percent, and this has come down over time from 30 percent,” Mafuru said in an interview yesterday in Dar es Salaam, the commercial capital. “We now see interest rates only dropping after a credit reference bureau is established and national identity cards are introduced,” he said.

George Nkonge-Appreciation/Help needed

A few days ago you posted an appeal from the family of George Nkonge, a US Army Veteran who passed away in a motel room in San Antonio, TX. after viewing your article on Diaspora messenger, the representatives here in Dallas were contacted and worked closely with Veterans groups here and the US Military in Dallas to give Specialist Nkonge, a proper escort. The US Marines gave him a color guard and the body was escorted from the funeral home in Dallas TX to DFW Airport by a convoy of motorcycles from the Texas Patriot Guard complete with US flags. As a sign of respect many motorists stopped by the side of the road as the motorcade passed by. The family still needs financial assistance. Please give this update to your readers.
Respectfully submitted,
Lance Corporal Joseph Karoki,
United States Marines.

  1. Harold Camping proclaimed the Lord's return would be in 1994!
  2. Harold Camping now proclaims the Lord's return will be on May 21, 2011!
  3. Harold Camping teaches that the world will end in fiery destruction on October 21, 2011!
  4. Harold Camping (Family Radio) has aired Mormon advertisements!
  5. Harold Camping taught that NO ONE was saved between 1988 through 1994!
  6. Harold Camping teaches that the church age ended in 1994!
  7. Harold Camping teaches that the Holy Spirit is NO LONGER working in the church!

Obama heads to Texas to push immigration overhaul

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is making his first trip as president to the U.S.-Mexico border, using the setting to sharpen his call for a remake of the nation's immigration laws and try to cast the GOP as the obstacle standing in its way.

The president's speech in El Paso, Texas, on Tuesday, and his visit to a border crossing there, are the latest high-profile immigration events by Obama, who has also hosted meetings at the White House recently with Latino lawmakers, movie stars and others.

It all comes despite an unfavorable climate on Capitol Hill, where Republicans who control the House have shown no interest in legislation that offers a pathway to citizenship for the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants.
