Authorities: Md. man admits eating heart of victim

BALTIMORE (AP) — A 21-year-old college student accused of killing a housemate told police he ate the victim's heart and part of his brain after he died.
Alexander Kinyua hid the head and hands of the dead man in his family's basement laundry room in a suburb of Baltimore, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Kinyua, a student at Morgan State University, was charged earlier in May in another attack in which the victim was brutally beaten but survived.
Kinyua, a Kenya native, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie. He was ordered held on no bail.
His public defender did not return a call seeking comment, and a voicemail left at Kinyua's home was not returned.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Monica Worrell said the chief medical examiner had not yet officially identified the body parts, but that authorities believe they are those of Kodie, who was reported missing May 25.
On Tuesday, Kinyua's father, Antony Kinyua, called detectives and reported that another son, Jarrod, found what he thought were human remains in the house where they all lived.

Cops kill naked man caught chewing off victim's face

Police in Miami shot dead a man who was chewing the face of another man.
Officers were called around 2pm local time on Saturday by drivers who saw two naked men fighting on a bike track next to the city's MacArthur Causeway.
When they arrived at the scene they drew their weapons and ordered the man to stop biting at the other man's face. He ignored them, prompting officers to open fire.
Even after being shot, the man continued and the officers fired again, killing him.
Police are still trying to work out what caused the confrontation that led to the shooting.
"During this confrontation an officer did discharge his weapon striking one of the individuals. That individual has lost his life right now," said Detective Willie Moreno, spokesperson for Miami police.

Nape Ni Gamba- asema Maige

Rate of Child Abuse Higher Among Muslims...

A little over a month ago, on April 17, a ten-year-old Muslim boy named Abdifatah Mohamud, was brutally murdered in Buffalo, NY by his stepfather—beaten to death more than 70 times with a rolling pin. The stepfather admitted to “…binding the boy's hands, stuffing a sock into his mouth, duct taping the boy's mouth and beating him to death.” Abidifatah himself had made two frantic calls to 911 the year before he died, pleading for help, but no one arrived at his home to investigate or intervene. The day of his death, he ran to a neighbor’s home asking for refuge, but she urged him to return home.

One month prior to Abdifatah’s death, on March 19, six-year-old Khalil Wimes died at the hands of his parents. He was already gone when his parents brought him to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He weighed a meager 29 pounds and bore countless scars across his face and body, markers of the beatings he had suffered for the past two years. Khalil’s two adult sisters admitted that the little boy spent the final months of his life ill, malnourished and in and out of school because his parents would refuse to feed him and would routinely hit him with anything they could use as a weapon—extension cords, belts, books or shoes. Extended family saw the bruised, frail boy and looked the other way. Khalil had not always had been a terrorized child; he spent the first three years of his life with his loving foster mother who also happened to be his distant cousin. Authorities decided to return Khalil to his addicted parents—six other children had already been removed from the couple’s care because child services had confirmed abuse and neglect—as an attempt at family reunification. His foster mother had been knocking on adoption agencies’ doors for three years in a futile effort to regain custody of Khalil. And now she never will.

Prominent Swedish Research Cuts Off and Eats Wife's Lips...

The man attacked his much younger wife in their home south of Stockholm after flying into a jealous rage over suspicions that his wife had been unfaithful, the Aftonbladet newspaper reported.

Prosecutors considered the attack to be so vicious that they requested the man be remanded in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

During a remand hearing, however, the court ruled the suspicions should be classified as aggravated assault and ordered the man held on remand pending the filing of formal charges.

According to Aftonbladet, the researcher has admitted to cutting off his wife's lips in retaliation for a supposed love affair.

"It was honour related. He doesn't seem to regret a thing; he believes she insulted him," a source with knowledge of the matter told the paper.

Ingela Hessius Ekman, a lawyer representing the victim, said her client has suffered both physically and emotionally from the attack.

Rwandan ex-minister jailed for life over genocide

DAR ES SALAAM - The U.N. war crimes tribunal for Rwanda sentenced former minister Callixte Nzabonimana to life in prison on Thursday after he was found guilty of playing a key role in his country's 1994 genocide.

The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), based in Arusha in Tanzania, convicted the former Rwandan Minister of Youth and Associate Movements for genocide, conspiracy, incitement and extermination as a crime against humanity.

"The trial chamber found that ... Nzabonimana instigated the killing of Tutsis. It also found Nzabonimana guilty of entering into two separate agreements to kill Tutsis," ICTR said in a statement.

The former Rwandan politician, 59, was arrested in Tanzania in February 2008.

Ethnic Hutu militia and soldiers butchered 800,000 minority Tutsis and politically moderate Hutus in the tiny east African country in just 100 days between April and June 1994.

Bill Introduced in Congress to Replace Green Card Lottery with Visas for Foreign Tech Graduates

The US is looking to shift the focus of Green Cards onto skilled hi-tech foreign students rather than its current lottery scheme.
US senator John Cornyn, a senior Republican who sits on a panel that oversees immigration, has introduced legislation that would reserve 55,000 permanent resident visas for overseas students graduating from specific US-based courses.
These include science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Mr Cornyn said: "In the global competition for the world's best and brightest minds in math and science, the United States should take a backseat to no one."
His ACT – Securing the Talent America Requires for the 21st Century – has been backed by the American Council on International Personnel (ACIP).
Lynn Shotwell, executive director at ACIP, said: "The American economy needs these highly sought-after graduates, and we can't afford to let our US immigration system fall behind in the global race for talent by losing these graduates to foreign competitors."

Askofu Mokiwa: Shein chukua hatua Zanzibar

Elias Msuya na Salma Said

“Tunaiomba Serikali ichukue hatua madhubuti kudhibiti vitendo hivyo, Wakristo wamechoka.

CCM sasa vurugu tupu, MUKAMA ASEMA KINA MPASUKO MKUBWA

Report: Hugo Chavez's cancer at 'end stage'

This reporter has been told that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez  has metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive cancer that has "entered the end stage".  The information and the quote come from a highly respected source close to Chavez and who is in a position to know his medical condition and history. This source says the prognosis is dire and that Chavez  is now not expected to live "more than a couple of months at most."  Chavez is running for re-elec tion in Venezuela but several sources--including the one who revealed  the exact kind of cancer-- have told me that they believe it is doubtful the dictator will live to see the results.

Mitt Romney is NOT a Natural Born Citizen

Mitt's father, George Romney, was born in Mexico and was a Mexican citizen. There's no indication that George Romney was ever naturalized as a U.S. Citizen and under Mexican law, George Romney was a Mexican citizen, regardless of whether or not he had two U.S. citizen parents at birth.

According to Mexican law, even the children of Mexican citizens are considered citizens of Mexico. When Mitt Romney was born, he acquired dual-citizenship as both a U.S. and Mexican citizen.

Therefore under Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution, Mitt Romney is NOT a Natural Born Citizen and ineligible for the office of President.

Lawsuits must be filed immediately in order to prevent Romney from becoming the GOP nominee or taking the oath of office if he's elected President.

FBI joins investigation into Kenyan bomb blast

NAIROBI, Kenya - An official says FBI agents are assisting Kenyan officials in the investigation into a large explosion in downtown Nairobi.
An explosion ripped through a building full of small shops on Monday, injuring at least 33 people, including a woman who blamed the blast on a "bearded man" who left behind a bag shortly before the detonation.
A Kenyan official who said he could not be quoted confirmed the FBI's involvement on Tuesday.
The intelligence firm IntelCenter said that militants from the al-Qaida-linked Somali group al-Shabab bragged about conducting interviews of survivors after the blast. IntelCenter said the development poses significant challenges to security forces and legitimate members of the media covering attacks.

Imam Jailed for Murdering Wife

A young Imam has been put behind bars on the charge of killing his second wife. Shaik Ayub alias Abdulrahman, of Dharmabad in Adilabad district, allegedly killed Yasmeen Begum by strangulating her in bed a few days ago. She was barely 24 years old and the couple had been married for only nine months.
The incident came as a shocker for the village and people gathered in large numbers demanding that the Imam be sentenced to death, as he had defamed the community and holy script. The sarpanch and others plan to boycott the family for such an inhuman act. The reason for the crime is said to be dowry.
Yasmeen who father Shaikh Babu, a daily wage labourer and father of six daughters, could not meet the Imam’s dowry demands. It is alleged that Ayub had been demanding five grams of gold and Rs10,000 in cash immediately. Knowing her father’s financial position, Yasmeen repeatedly pleaded with Ayub that her father could not afford to meet his demands.

Christians Should "Convert, Pay Tribute, or Leave," Says Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood Candidate?

"They need to know that conquest is coming, that Egypt will be Islamic, and that they must pay jizya or emigrate," Morsi reportedly said.
According to the popular Egyptian website, El Bashayer, Muhammad Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate, just declared that he will "achieve the Islamic conquest (fath) of Egypt for the second time, and make all Christians convert to Islam, or else pay the jizya," the additional Islamic tax, or financial tribute, required of non-Muslims, or financial tribute.
In a brief report written by Samuel al-Ashay and published by El Bashayer on May 27, Morsi allegedly made these comments while speaking with a journalist at the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, adding "We will not allow Ahmed Shafiq [his contending presidential candidate] or anyone else to impede our second Islamic conquest of Egypt."

Kenya Army Captures Afmadow,Promise to Capture Kismayu by August-CNN News

Nairobi, Kenya (CNN) -- Kenyan soldiers, as part of African Union forces in Somalia, captured the key Al-Shabaab-controlled town of Afmadow on Wednesday, according to a Kenyan Defence Force spokesman. "We now control Afmadow with our troops," Maj. Emmanuel Chirchir told CNN. The operation started early Wednesday, he said, with KDF forces capturing the town of Hayo. Six Al-Shabaab militants were killed in that operation. "(The troops) then moved straight onto Afmadow," said Chirchir.

New push against militants in Somalia

Military analysts believe that Afmadow is a key step in Kenya's campaign against Al-Shabaab, the Islamic militant group they have been fighting since they entered Somalia in October of last year. The town would serve as a staging point for any move on Kismayo, Al-Shabaab's stronghold in southern Somalia. "Afmadow is an important administrative town that was supplying Al-Shabaab fighters with money. It was their nerve center," said Chirchir. "After the fall of Amfadow there is only Kismayo."

Last week, the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) said it, along with Somali troops, had launched an offensive against militants in the Afgoye corridor, a densely-populated enclave near the volatile Somali capital of Mogadishu. The corridor, which has been controlled by the al Qaeda-backed Al-Shabaab, is populated with one of the largest populations of internally displaced people. The African Union said the militants have blocked many aid agencies from operating in the area. The campaign was "going well," AMISOM spokesman, Lt. Col. Paddy Nkunda said last week. "Al-Shabaab tried to fight, but they know they are about to lose Afgoye and our soldiers broke through their early resistance.

Israel heart specialists to support Zanzibar

Zanzibar probably  has the highest number of children with heart complications, health expert in Israel has said. Dr Alia Kapusta of the Edith Wolfson hospital in Israel said at a meeting with the visiting Zanzibar Second Vice president (2VP) Ambassador Seif Ali Iddi in Tel-Aviv that health experts from the country would travel to Zanzibar to help children with heart problems.

According to a press statement from the press secretary of the 2VP, the team of heart specialists from an Israel hospital will be flying to Zanzibar to study and diagnose possible cause of heart problems in at least one-thousand children of Zanzibar.
“We have planned to send a team of doctors in September this year to come, check and study the problems causing heart problems in Zanzibari children between the age of five and fifteen,” said Dr Alia, adding that a survey showed that Zanzibar had the biggest number of children with heart patients compared to other African countries.

Zanzibar: Muslim Persecution of Christians

ZANZIBAR, Tanzania (AP) -- Zanzibar's mosques are fuller on Fridays, more women are wearing head scarves and more Muslim men are showing calluses created by frequently touching their foreheads to the ground in prayer. A growing number of Zanzibaris are turning toward a stricter form of Islam and possibly away from democracy ahead of this fall's elections, expected to be a volatile affair.

Multiparty politics ''has brought nothing but tragedy,'' said Abdallah Mohammed Suleiman, 42, who sells imported clothes. ''The best solution (is) to uphold our religious values, that is Islamic values, or revert to single party rule.

''After all, Islam is the sole unifying factor in Zanzibar.''

Fundamentalist clerics see an opportunity, offering Islamic law as an alternative to democracy, arguing that would bring discipline and moral values to political leadership.
